Well now that we have gotten into the swing of things here at Radio 19.5 where we listen to your requests. We have gotten several requests for a specific type of music. So this week we are going to bring out a treat for you! We are kicking it old school and bringing it back to your home made synthesizers. Yes that’s right all day Saturday we will be playing 8-bit music.
For those who don’t know 8-bit “chiptune” music came about because sound chips initially had “simple tone and noise generators with few channels.” This put a cap on the complexity of the sounds and how many notes could be played. 8-bit music really made it big with the explosion of the video game industry in the 80’s and 90’s.
I know everyone is excited about this coming Saturday but we here at Radio 19.5 really know why you all read our blog. For those who have then you would know about all our up and coming events like our DJ battle to the death… LIVE! Yes that is right get your gear and come down to the studio to mix until you bleed. I see that you are getting into the swing of things here, and that is really exciting. I (obviously) won't be able to be there on Saturday, but, you know, break a leg and all that.
